Design of a small cinema developed entirely along Gilles Deleuze’s “logic of sensation”: the non-rational logic of the body when an intense movement flows through it, a deformed and deforming movement that constitutes a figure.
Echoing the linear nature of film, which extracts you from your world and pulls you into a fantastic, otherworldly, synesthetic space, the form and programs are arranged to lead you from the more normative entry sequence, through the increasingly complex expanding volume, and discharging you through the theatre, transformed by your experience.
Study and massing models were printed as examples of extreme geometries with the Centre for Intelligent Machines’ 3D Ice Printer.
